Two families of different classes and races are brought together through prejudice, betrayal and murder. As Mary tries to make sense of this seemingly senseless act, her idyllic life begins to unravel in unimaginable ways. The truth she uncovers lays waste to all she has known, and now past and present betrayals come full circle with tragic results. Her desire for understanding and justice becomes a desperate and thrilling fight for her life.
The inspiration for the feature film, “The Lies of Others,” came from reading about the plight of Hispanic immigrants working in farm animal factories and striving to make a better life for their children. It was both inspiring and heartbreaking, and clearly a powerful story of our current America. What would a parent do, go through, or give up for their children?
“The Lies of Others” is currently seeking funds and production partners for a 2009 fall shoot.
