Steve E. Turner is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. He was educated at Southern Illinois University (SIU). At SIU he attended the film school where he made short narrative and experimental 16mm films and then moved to writing and directing for the stage. During his college years and those following, he directed over twenty one-act and full-length plays. With an English degree in hand he took the position of General Manager for Borders Bookstores and then Barnes & Noble Bookstores.
In 2006 he left Barnes & Noble to pursue the television, corporate and commercial market full time. In the summer of 2006 he wrote, produced and directed the SMDFF 2007 Best Picture Award Winner (short), “Mere Sentience.” In 2007 he wrote, produced and directed the feature film "Miller's Tale," which is at festivals now.
Steve is currently in production on "Taylorville," an episodic Web series to air in late August, 2008; he is also in development for his next feature film, “The Lies of Others,” scheduled for producton in 2009.
